Islington Centre for English are the English Language Specialists. ICE offer a wide range of English courses from General English to First Certificate Exam Preparation, from English Accent Perfection to Business English Evening Courses. At the ICE centre in 97 & 98 White Lion street, they typically run 10 English classes at any one time slot which allows them to provide for all levels of proficiency: from Beginner (CEFR A1) to Advanced (CEFR C2). Central to ICE's philosophy is empowering the student to communicate and speak English confidently and effectively. Ultimately, speaking is the most important skill, so teachers ensure that students have the opportunity to talk to their partner, to the teacher and to the class as a whole. The English Language Specialists
Islington Centre for English (ICE) is a specialist language school based in the heart of London, accredited by the British Council and offering some of the best value English courses in the capital. With over 20 years of experience and more than 2,500 enrolments each year, ICE has welcomed thousands of students from around the world. Located at their dedicated centre on White Lion Street—just a one-minute walk from Angel Underground station—ICE typically runs ten classes at any one time, catering to all levels from complete Beginner (CEFR A1) to Advanced (CEFR C2).
A Focus on Communication in Small, Friendly Classes
Central to ICE’s teaching philosophy is empowering students to communicate confidently and effectively in English. Because speaking is the most important skill, lessons are designed to maximise talking time—whether with a partner, the teacher, or the whole class. With a maximum of 15 students per class and an excellent nationality mix, students learn in a caring, family atmosphere alongside people from all over the world. All teachers are qualified native speakers who take part in regular development sessions to stay up to date with the latest teaching methods.
Flexible Courses to Suit Every Learner
ICE offers a wide range of programmes including General English, Cambridge First Certificate and Advanced preparation, IELTS, Business English, and Accent Perfection courses. With morning, afternoon, and evening classes available—plus part-time and intensive options—there’s a timetable to suit every schedule. ICE also offers a unique English plus Volunteering programme, allowing students to practise their English while contributing to London charities such as Oxfam.
