ILC International Language Centres has schools in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Colchester, Portsmouth. Its history dates back to 1969, when Colchester English Study Centre (CESC) was established. Its other schools belonged to TEG and ABC. ILC provides high-quality language courses and excellent customer service in a variety of attractive locations. We have great residential and non-residential summer schools, flexible year round young learner mini-break programmes and a strong general English and academic pathway programme.

ILC Birmingham gives students the opportunity to study English in the UK’s vibrant second city. Located right on Broad Street in the city centre, the school places students at the heart of everything Birmingham has to offer, from the Bull Ring and Grand Central shopping centres to the restaurants of Brindley Place and The Mailbox, where food from over 30 different countries can be found. With famous canals, live music venues, and a rich cultural heritage, students have plenty to explore outside the classroom.

The Birmingham school is based in a modern, comfortable setting with easy access to the city’s main attractions, all within walking distance. Students benefit from excellent transport links across the West Midlands and beyond, making it easy to travel to other parts of the UK. Birmingham’s central location and diverse, multicultural character create a welcoming environment for international students looking to practise English in everyday life.
Courses and Student Life
ILC Birmingham offers a broad range of English language courses including General English, Intensive English, IELTS and Cambridge exam preparation, one-to-one tuition, and evening classes. Lessons are interactive and engaging, with six classrooms, free Wi-Fi, and a student lounge providing a comfortable learning environment. Outside the classroom, a weekly activities programme includes walking tours, speaking clubs, games, drama, sports, and evening events such as barbecues, live music, and Cultural Evenings where students share their own country and traditions.
